Justen Shotts - Alphabet Photography

In Digital Photo I was given an assignment to create my name out of "letters". My teacher said that these letters could not be letters themselves, rather they had to be objects that could be flipped or rotated to look like letters. I ended up taking photos of several objects like headphones, shoes, a wooden spoon, and even of a chandelier to create "J.U.S.T.E.N". I had trouble creating the letters out of objects, such as the "E" or the "U" because I could not find anything around me that looked like those letters. In the end, I think that I successfully created my name, and I think that the idea of the project was conveyed perfectly throughout my series of photographs.

I used the painting on my wall for the M and some other objects around my house for the rest if the letters. and then i used a pink background with my gradient tool.

I really like this photo because I really like all of the things that spell out my name. I also liked doing this because it was fun looking for things to spell my name.

I struggled with finding letters, but I made it work. My favorite picture is the last N because I used a wave and thought it looked really cool

Braden Alphabet Photography

 I like this photo the best because it has my name in it. I really like the way the B and the A turned out, they were really distinct and you could tell exactly what they were without manipulating them really. The N was really hard to find around the house so I did have to move some things around a little bit though.

The first letter in my name is from an old piece of wood that had a shape cut out in it. The second letter is from a poster. The third letter is a bicycle logo i found and then I flipped it. the last two letters are pipes in the ceilings of the school.

Jeff Avery - Alphabet

My favorite is the nike one. It is the closest one to an actual letter of all of them.The other one i like is the Y one because as a whole the picture is really cool but you only get to see like a quarter of it.

Long Tran - Alphabet

My favorite part of this picture is the "N" I made with my old basketball trophies. I like how I arranged it to look like they were actually in a game, showing a guy dunking in the hoop and shooting.

Kalin Bennington-Alphabet Photography

This project, while enjoyable, was very difficult. I took a majority of the pictures at Creekside where the varying shapes of the twigs made for it to be more likely that I would find letters of my name. I tried to keep warmer tones in my photos because I mean... warmer colors are better so. The ability to manipulate the pictures in Photoshop made for a better project.

Lilly Woodard - Alphabet

Ls are actually pretty easy to find, as they make right angles, like door frames and picture frames. However, Ns are harder to find. I ended up walking around the house for a long time before being able to find an N, and it was actually on a sign we got from Portugal; which was pretty funny.

Ivon Nguyen- Alphabet

Finding the letters to spell out my name were pretty easy to find. The N's were kinda tough but once I looked around it was simple to spot. One of my favorite project this year, 

Tessa Wilson - Alphabet Photography

The T at the beginning of my name is my crucifix. I used the design on my dirty clothes basket to make the E. One of the ornament hooks on our Christmas tree looks like an S, so I duplicated it to make both of the S's for my name, because I couldn't find another object that looked like an S. Finally, for the A I used a picture holder that my friend got me for my birthday, because it is in the shape of a triangle which passes as an A.

Ryan Whitacre- Alphabet

I like the way my name turned out, and I really like the "Y" because it looks really cool. I also really like the "R" because the wristband formed a prefect R shape.

Alex Metz - Alphabet

For the A I took a small Christmas tree then took lights and wrapped them across to look like an A. The L is a picture frame turned to the sides. The E is part of my window. The X is an ornament that has been zoomed in. And the M is a pair of slippers up together.

Samantha Emmons - Alphabet

I think this was one of my favorite projects that we did in this class. I loved being able to be so creative and think out of the box. My favorite letter was the N, I think it look so cool how the icicle finishes the N shape of the pipe. The hardest to find was the M, i had to think out of the box and decided to turn it upside down. 

Madelin Larick - Alphabet

I walked around for an hour while trying to find all the letters, N being the hardest for me. I like the photos all being in black and white, so I had to enhance whites and blacks while trying to keep out the monotonous gray.

Amanda - Alphabet Project

This is my alphabet project.  I took all of my pictures at Creek Side.  I especially like the picture I took for my "A" because I think it was really creative to find letter that in a park bench. 

Shotts Justen - Clone Shot

This photo is a clone shot of me scattered across my family room. It was rather hard to get my entire body correctly placed in the photo(where my legs are in the air) because of my standing self placed behind it. I didn't have any trouble with the tripod moving, I just set the camera on a tripod and used a timer to take the photos. I tried to scene that was almost like a group of friends hanging out, and I think I did it pretty well.

Tessa Wilson - Clone Shot

This picture is of my boyfriend, his name is Jacob. He enjoys playing hockey, so we went to a parking lot and set up all of his hockey stuff. I had him wear two different shirts so it would look like he's playing against himself. Some challenges with taking the pictures would be keeping the camera still, and making sure that his bodies don't overlap each other (unless they were supposed to). A challenge with photoshopping would be deciphering what to keep with each body, because some of the shadows were tougher to keep blended than others.

Lilly Woodard - Landscape

I chose this picture because I really enjoyed how it came out.by using a slower shutter speed I was able to get the background looking normal, while the car was blurry from how fast it was moving. I didn't experiment much with shutter speed before, but it was actually really cool to see how it turned out.

I took this picture in my living room which was kind of hard because it was dark and I didn't have much time to take these photos. I also like these because they were really fun to shoot.

This was my favorite clone shot, the lighting is really good, and it looks like all of them are watching a good TV show on a weeknight, having a good time with the lads (himself).

Clone Shot - Madelin Larick

This is my brother decorating the tree in the living room for me. The most trouble I had during this project was arranging the layers in the correct order so that they would be visually correct.

Lilly Woodard - Clone Shot

I took this picture of my sister from our loft looking over the living room. She ended up moving the chair and I ended up having to use the accidental picture I took first because she did not want to re take all the pictures. Other than that, I didn't have many problems except that she kept taking snack breaks in the middle of the shoot.

I liked this picture better because the lighting stayed the same throughout so all of the clones look real.  It was difficult to photo shop the shadows but it looks so much more real with it in there.

I took this picture by taking a video on my phone, then walking around standing in different spots. Then I went back to the video and took screen shots of the different poses. I like this picture because it looks real and not that edited.

 This is my favorite clone shot I took because there is actually something going on in it, compared to the other one. I am talking to myself, I am tying my shoe, I am fixing the tire, and I am on the phone.

I photographed my little sister in her room and I made her choose her own poses. It was had because her room was a but small and the poses and positions wasn't well thought out. But overall it looks decent.

Clone Shots - Long Tran

This one is my favorite because I had the least amount of trouble with this one. The camera stayed very still on my back porch, and the photos of my brother didn't overlap too much, which made editing very easy.

Clone Shots- Ryan Whitacre

I like this clone picture the best because none of the picture overlap, and it is well edited. I luckily didn't have any trouble taking these pictures or editing them, and the final product turned out how i wanted.

I chose this image because I like how I was able to work with such a limited space and still do a decent job. I think its funny how all 7 of me are debating on where to put the star in the picture and I thought it was creative.

This is a clone shot of my friend Dominic "forehead" Taylor. We took pictures in his family room and use props like his little cousins desk.

These were easy to pose for since I spread myself around the area of the setting. I didn't have a tripod so it was a bit of a challenge.

I took these pictures of my brother and gave him full control on his poses. I like how they vary based on how he was feeling. It was very hard to edit the one sitting on the ground because the grass colors were different. And even though the edges are foggy, I feel like it turned out very well overall.

Kalin Bennington_CloneShot

I selected this picture as my favorite mostly because of the varying poses. I selected a location that didn't have a lot of space on purpose, so that I would be faced with a bigger challenge when it came to Photoshop. With the many poses, lack of space, and excessive amount of objects in the living room, it made for a very interesting photo to take, and Photoshop.

This is my favorite read poster I did because i like how her expression shows she really into the book. I also like this because i used the 3D effect on her name.

This was my favorite color pop photo because the yellow bag against the black and white background just pops really well, the color is very bright and the yellow Ferrari logo looks really good.

Amanda's Landscape

This is my focal point landscape.  My goal was to focus my camera on my dog and blur out the fence and the trees.  I like the way the color of my dog contrasts the color of the grass.
